Prague, 2 December 2022: The Association of Local Governments (SMS CR) today signed a cooperation agreement with its partner company SMSData and Ness Czech, which will enable all municipalities in the Czech Republic to use the AGIS DTM tool. The tool will enable them to maintain documentation of transport and technical infrastructure owned by the municipality, as well as provide data on transport and technical infrastructure to the Digital Technical Map (DTM) of the region and retrieve data from the DTM of the region.
This is necessary for municipalities primarily because Act No. 47/2020 Coll. imposed an obligation on municipalities and cities to submit data on objects and facilities that are the content of the Digital Technical Map and to update these datasets. The Association of Local Authorities has been looking for ways to make it easier for municipalities to fulfil this legal obligation.
“Following the Declaration on cooperation in the provision and management of digital technical maps, which we have concluded with the MIT, the Ministry of Regional Development and the ČÚZK, and especially on the basis of increased demand from municipalities, we are jointly bringing municipalities a specific solution that will help them with data entry into digital technical maps and their updating,” says Eliška Olšáková, chairwoman of the SMS CR. Thanks to the cooperation with Ness Czech and SMSData, a software IT tool was created, which enables both the insertion of changes in the transport and technical infrastructure (DTI) of municipalities into the regional digital technical maps and the provision of competence centre and helpline services and other additional services.
The AGIS DTM tool will be available to all municipalities in the Czech Republic, regardless of whether they are members of the Association of Local Authorities. “For a one-off annual fee, they will be able to edit information on technical and transport infrastructure directly or indirectly, i.e. through a representative. The service will include one free registration of changes to technical and transport infrastructure information. Registered municipalities will also have an assistance telephone line available, whose staff will be happy to help and advise,” says Martin Silvička, CEO of Ness Czech, which is the creator of the Cadastre Information System and is involved in the creation of the DTM in individual regions.
“In case of interest, municipalities can leave all the work to the Competence Centre, which will be officially launched at the beginning of next year.It will offer expert assistance and follow-up services in the area concerned, from data processing and conversion into a uniform exchange format, through ensuring control activities during data uploading for registered municipalities to ensuring communication and cooperation with the DMVS IS and regional DTMs,” adds Pavel Macoun from SMSData.
SMS CR has been working on the topic of DTM for a long time, is a leader in the field of digitalization of municipalities and a major innovative player. In cooperation with ČÚZK and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic, SMS CR is already conducting information seminars on DTM in all regions, which are free of charge for all mayors. “Our goal is to continue to work closely with the regions, which is why we have also offered the AGIS DTM project to the regions for their municipalities, on discounted terms,” concludes Eliška Olšáková.
