Eurowag Optimizes Pricing with Innovative Cloud-Based System 

Eurowag, a major provider of fuel services for over 30,000 transport and logistics companies across Europe and Asia, faced significant difficulties with its outdated transaction pricing and rating system. This decade-old platform was no longer capable of supporting the company’s rapid growth or responding effectively to dynamic market changes. The system required modernization to accelerate and refine pricing processes, enhance user experience, and enable the introduction of new services such as pricing models and product bundles. Additionally, a transition to a cloud environment was critical to support dynamic growth and mobile operations.

Ness Czech developed a state-of-the-art pricing and rating system designed to operate on the Microsoft Azure cloud. The project involved a complete overhaul of the legacy system, transitioning it to a new platform powered by Azure Kubernetes Service and supported by technologies such as Docker, ReactJS, Java Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL. The solution was structured around four essential modules: managing purchase prices and sales models, allowing merchants to set margins and simulate financial outcomes, optimizing pricing based on client and location scoring, and pricing transactions while providing detailed price lists to customers. 

A team of 30 IT professionals applied Ness’s Agile methodology to ensure a seamless development process, delivering the solution over eight iterations. By utilizing the cloud, the system enabled dynamic performance scaling, a critical feature to accommodate Eurowag’s future growth needs. The solution was also fully optimized for mobile devices, simplifying field operations for sales representatives. 

The deployment of the new cloud-based system significantly improved Eurowag’s pricing and rating processes. It accelerated pricing operations, enhancing overall efficiency and reducing errors through automated checks. Complaints diminished as a result, and client onboarding became smoother thanks to the automatic generation of initial margins. The dynamic scaling capability provided by the cloud allowed the system to adapt seamlessly to the company’s growth. Additionally, the mobile optimization simplified tasks for sales representatives in the field. The solution exceeded business expectations, offering high performance, an intuitive user interface, and the flexibility to expand with new features and modules in the future.
