Jak zvládnout digitální otřesy

How to handle digital shocks

In the age of digital transformation, running a successful business and staying competitive presents unique challenges. Digital disruptions are reshaping industries, and at Ness, we help our customers navigate and manage these changes.

› What Would You Say Are the Biggest Challenges Facing Ness Customers?

More than eighty percent of our work helps customers drive sales by creating platforms that support the sale of their products. Therefore, the main challenge our customers face is ensuring revenue growth. Does this require more differentiation, broader brand awareness, and greater customer loyalty? How can they support digital business and stay competitive?

At Ness, we focus on areas where digital disruptions affect established processes. We call these areas “domains.” These include smart business, which covers new payment methods, customer loyalty, and the ability to sell successfully in the digital world.

Talk with Customers

We ask customers, How do you use content, video, or music to create a new data product or service for your clients? How do you sell, distribute, and facilitate their consumption? Some of these domains cross multiple industries. For example, payments are traditionally seen as part of financial services, but they also intersect with retail, travel, ticketing, and media consumption.

Another critical domain for us is smart machines. We work with customers who gather a huge amount of data from IoT (Internet of Things) sensors. We help them figure out how to use this data to control machines intelligently. Many industries are facing disruptions to their business models, and we help customers manage these upheavals and adjust their established practices.

› What Connection Do You See Between CEOs and Senior Leaders Facing Digital Change and Transformation?

First, it’s clear that CEOs and senior leaders are aware of the digital disruptions happening today. Digital technologies are shaking up business models and the supply of existing products and services. Leaders are working quickly to adapt to these changes. Some try to control the disruptions, while others simply react to them.

Executives know that modern technology is essential for success, but many companies’ internal IT systems aren’t designed to respond to the constantly changing demands of the marketplace. Corporate IT departments have traditionally focused on internal employees, but software has long since become a tool to compete and do business directly with clients.

The successful CIOs I meet are transitioning into CTO (Chief Technology Officer) roles. They are working with their teams to innovate, driven by the necessity of internal change. Emerging technologies are offering differentiation in the marketplace, and combining these technologies with flexible, agile business practices is becoming crucial to success. These are exactly the themes and approaches I hear about when speaking with the CEOs of our customer companies.

› How Do You Educate Yourself as a CEO?

It’s important for me to stay in touch with the market and understand our customers’ needs. I enjoy meeting customers in person. I listen to them, learn what they’re trying to achieve, understand what we’re already doing for them, and identify what else we can do. Equally important is spending time with employees in our global development centers, whether in India or Europe.

I travel frequently for work. I see this as the best way to stay connected, identify new opportunities, figure out how we can improve, and refine the company’s direction and investments to ensure Ness stays at the forefront of its field.

› What Advice Do You Have for Fellow CEOs?

Listen to your customers, listen to your employees, and be authentic. These are the three things I prioritize. And sometimes, it’s helpful to remind yourself that one person can’t know everything.

We are living in a golden age of software and technology, where the world is changing by the minute. Just look at how we pay, travel, and consume media today. I am convinced that the opportunities this presents for our company and customers are immense.
