The prestigious IDC Summit, focused on digital transformation, has concluded. This year, we were proud to participate not only as a partner but also in the formulation of the key theses, thanks to Petr Mýtina. The discussions primarily revolved around technology and business, and the event concluded on a high note with a charitable auction.
The Theme of Digital Transformation (DX)
The central theme of this year’s IDC Summit was digital transformation (DX), particularly exploring how to make it simpler and more accessible. Interest in the conference has grown year after year, reflecting the increasing importance of this topic in the daily operations of businesses. As the role of CIOs and CXOs continues to grow, so does their responsibility for tackling technological challenges. The majority of participants at this IT forum came from these roles, highlighting the pivotal position they hold in digital transformation.
Every Company Is Technological in Its Own Way
Technology is evolving rapidly, becoming more sophisticated, and solving increasingly complex problems. However, this growth also places higher demands on the information systems of every company. In today’s digital age, it’s safe to say that every company, regardless of its sector, is “technological.” Data is a key phenomenon of the modern era, and its volume is growing exponentially.
Data’s value becomes evident only when it is utilized effectively. Analytics and data-driven insights help companies make informed decisions and drive changes in their business models. This shift is also transforming the role of CIOs, who must navigate faster business dynamics, higher expectations from both customers and employees, and changing behaviors.
An Individual Journey for Each Company
A natural question arises: how can companies navigate this challenging world? Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all solution for agile transformation. Every company’s journey is unique and must be guided by a clear vision and strategy for leveraging innovative technologies. It must also account for employees and company culture, ideally fostering an environment where digital transformation is embraced and supported by management.
Digital transformation (DX) is a complex process that should span the entire organization, including its internal processes. Better user experiences should not only be available to customers but also to employees.
Start Digitization with Customer Experience and Product Innovation
This year, as the main partner of the IDC Summit, Petr Mýtina presented his approach to digital transformation in the “Business: Race to Innovation” section. His presentation, titled “DX Outside In,” emphasized that the best place to start digital transformation is with customer experience and product/service innovation—essentially, the front-end. However, he also stressed that DX is a comprehensive process that should involve the entire organization, including internal processes.
Improved user experiences should be accessible not only to customers but also to employees. Petr also recommended specific steps for smoother progression in digital transformation, such as building a suitable IT infrastructure and unifying front-end and back-end systems.
Not Only Advising but Also Helping
The Summit concluded with an auction of paintings created during the conference by the participants. We contributed ten thousand crowns to the auction proceeds, which will help young people from orphanages who face limited employment opportunities.
