Prague, August 16, 2021: In order to promote diversity and attract new talent to the labour market, Ness Czech, a leading Czech system integrator, has become a partner of the Diversity Talent Pool platform. This connects candidates with a variety of cultural, national, health or personal backgrounds with employers who are interested in recruiting new talent and want to promote diversity in their teams.
“Diversity in the workplace is a source of new ideas and innovation for us, and a space to open doors for often overlooked talent. We have partnered with the Diversity Talent Pool platform to support this,” says Pavlína Janíková, HR and Marketing Director at Ness Czech, and continues, “We are not only concerned with the traditional perception of diversity in a similarly ethnically, culturally, age- or gender-balanced team; we also want to give a chance to people who have the skills we want, but due to their health or other limitations cannot, for example, pass a regular job interview. The entire IT job market is facing an almost critical shortage of talent and this is a new opportunity from our perspective to attract them.”
The main objective of the Diversity Talent Pool platform is therefore to remove barriers between job seekers and employers. “Instead of a unified recruitment process, we always try to take a step forward, open up to candidates with individual needs and adapt to them. We are convinced that no employer should focus on the limits and limitations of candidates, but on their talents and professional skills,” says Pavlína Janíková, adding that a quality and open company culture and its values can attract exceptional talent that would otherwise be overlooked.
“In more than 20 years of working with different communities, I have routinely encountered that various, even small, disadvantages or life situations are a huge barrier for people in the job market. It is not just people with physical disabilities, but also women, parents or the sandwich generation. Talented people are often underestimated, undervalued and underpaid because of their own prejudices or interview experiences because they somehow stand out”, says Jana Tikalová, founder of the Diversity Talent Pool and Director of OPIM, adding: “The tool is designed to break down interview fears from both candidates and companies, where unconscious biases often influence selection during interviews. Talents then lose out on the opportunity. At Pool, we want and welcome employers who see difference as a benefit and are able and willing to work with any prejudices. Ness is one of them.”
The Diversity Talent Pool tool was initiated by the non-profit organization OPIM, which has been working on the topic of diversity and inclusion for 20 years. It allows companies to present their offer of positions and job opportunities to candidates. It also gives them the opportunity to communicate their limitations to companies and thus eliminate them in some way during the recruitment process. This allows both parties to focus on the positive things they can offer each other in terms of employment.
