Process automation in publishing

The client, one of the largest companies on the Czech book market, needed to streamline processes in various areas (marketing, sales, administration, etc.). The main objectives were to increase efficiency in publishing and marketing activities, increase sales in B2C and B2B segments, reduce time-consuming and error-prone key processes, and free up the capacity of editors and proofreaders for higher value-added activities. The client was facing a problem with manual entry of book titles into the ERP and JIRA systems, which led to errors and unnecessary workload for staff.

Ness implemented a solution based on the UiPath platform that automated the entry of book titles. The robot now provides automatic data entry into the ERP system and JIRA, eliminating manual entry. Integration with MS Outlook was also provided for seamless communication between systems. The solution was designed to allow new features to be added incrementally based on client requirements, with Ness providing developers for customization and development.

The implementation of automation brought significant benefits to the client. The automated entry of book titles has saved up to 600 hours of work per year, improving overall efficiency. Errors in production processes were reduced due to accurate and automated inputs, while editors and proofreaders gained more time for higher value-added creative activities. This had a positive impact on the quality of the results and the overall productivity of the team.
